Analysis Time & Speeding It Up (Proxies/Cache)

The initial analysis step (clicking Analyze) in Spingle V2 is essential for the AI to understand your footage, but it can take time. Here's why and how to optimize it:

Why Does Analysis Take Time?

  • Deep AI Processing: Spingle performs a complex frame-by-frame analysis using computer vision and potentially audio transcription.

  • Cloud Power: To handle this intensity, footage segments are temporarily and securely uploaded for processing on powerful cloud servers.

  • Factors Influencing Speed:

    • Sequence Length: Longer sequences naturally take longer.

    • Footage Resolution/Codec: 4K/8K and RAW files (R3D, BRAW) require more processing than HD or proxies.

    • Your Hardware: While cloud processing does the heavy AI lifting, your local CPU is still involved in preparing and managing the data.

    • Internet Upload Speed: Affects how quickly segments reach the cloud servers.

Estimate: Expect roughly 30-60 minutes per hour of raw footage, but this is highly variable.

How to Speed Up Analysis & Workflow:

🚀 Tip #1: USE PROXIES!

This is the single most effective way to speed up the initial Analyze process.

  • If you create and attach proxies within your Premiere Pro project before adding the sequence to Spingle, Spingle will automatically use the smaller proxy files for analysis.

  • This dramatically reduces upload times and processing load.

  • Highly recommended for 4K+, RAW, or any large project workflows.

💾 Tip #2: Leverage the Local Cache

Spingle automatically saves analysis results locally on your computer.

  • Instant Reload: Once a sequence shows "Analyzed" in the panel, closing and reopening Premiere Pro will not require re-analysis. Spingle instantly loads the cached data.

  • Fast Iteration: This means you can re-run AI Selects/Create with new prompts very quickly without waiting for the full analysis again.

🌙 Tip #3: Run During Downtime

For very large projects (e.g., multi-hour wedding ceremonies):

  • Add your sequences to Spingle and start the Analyze process.

  • Let it run overnight or while you take a lunch break or work on other non-editing tasks.

  • When you return, the analysis should be complete and ready for action!
